Sights That Are Associated With Saint Patrick
There are many places that are associated with Saint Patrick. For example, Slemish, County Antram and Killala Bay, County Mayo are the areas where the raiders captured Saint Patrick; and there are two theories where Saint Patrick was a slave. One of those theories states he supposedly herded the sheep around Slemish and the second theory is that Saint Patrick herded the sheep near Killalo Bay.
Saul County Down is claimed to be the area where Saint Patrick founded his first church in a barn. A local Chieftain supposedly donated this church to him; his name was Dichu. It is also said that Saint Patrick also died at Saul or maybe brought there between his death and his burial. Today, there is a giant statue of Saint Patrick in that area.
